With Carl Josef Lamy's background (see the timeline pages), having spent years working for the U.S. pen maker: Parker Pen Company, it is not really all that surprising that his first pens produced after starting his own company (Orthos) resembled Parker's famous and very popular Duofold. Orthos Füllhalter-Fabrik Company, established in 1930, produced two basic button-filler models. A “man's” pen and a slightly smaller “woman's” pen. As mentioned above, they both looked very similar to the best-selling Parker Duofold with their flat-top caps, and efficient filling features.
One model, developed specifically for men, with its big ball styled clip, two plated gold rings around the open-end of the cap, and distinctive concave-shaped blind cap that covered the filling button at the other end of the pen, and available in many colors including a very attractive lapis colored pattern.
As for the slightly smaller model, developed with the woman in mind, it had a ring/loop on the top of the cap, enabling the usre to wear the fountain pen on a chain or necklace, if so desired. This model too was offered in the same attractive colors that the senior or “man's” pen was.
Several Photographs and much more details are forthcoming.
